Evening On Aroura
An ambient piece written for the Korg Wavestation, realized from a single patch program where the blending of four distinct textures was controlled in real time.
This composition is the result of a class I took on audio sampling. We spent a semester bringing every-day objects into the studio to record and then created something out of the library of sounds we'd assembled. My effort employed such things as a struck lampshade, chinese hand balls, a kazoo, and spoken words - all electronically altered in some manner and supplemented with a smattering of African singing and Pygmie percussion. Bon Appétit!
A short bit of granular synthesis composed in Csound, sourced from an audio sample of chanting monks.
